Quick answer

Go to Year Group > Community Engagement, open a student and assign their advisor under Members on the right, or assign several at once.

⚠️ Service Learning is now Community Engagement

ManageBac+ now uses Community Engagement in place of Service Learning (SL) for CP and other non-IB programmes. Some screenshots and labels in this guide still show the old name, and year groups set up before the change may still show Service Learning or SL. The steps are the same. See Service as Action and Service Learning are now Community Engagement.

Moving existing year groups to Community Engagement: year groups already using Service Learning keep the old setup until they are migrated. Migration means matching existing learning outcomes and hours to the new Community Engagement setup, and some of this data may not carry across, so it works best at the start of an academic year, before students add new activities. Submit a request and we will help you plan the move.

Assign Community Engagement Advisor individually via the Worksheet

Navigate to the Year Group > Community Engagement > select the student from the roster.

Assign Community Engagement Advisors in bulk via the Members tab.

Via Members > Community Engagement Advisors

Community Engagement Advisors can be assigned to students via the Community Engagement Advisors tab found under the Members tab of the relevant year group.

You can select an advisor for a student by choosing any of the existing Teachers/Advisors on the account from the drop-down menu next to the student's name. Click the downward arrow icon to assign the same advisor to all students in the year group. Finish by clicking Save Changes.

Note: You will have to create accounts for your teachers and advisors before you can see them in the dropdown menu.
