Navigating the Worksheet
Via the Personal Project or Community Project Roster
Personal Project & Community Project worksheets allow students to keep a portfolio of their personal or community project process journal, documents and deadlines. These can be accessed via the Personal Project or Community Project tab within your IB year group.
You can access your students' pages to view their worksheet, process journal, and assessment. From the roster page, it is also possible to add deadlines for this year group.
Project Worksheet
The Workspace displays each student’s project proposal, the supervisor, and progress against deadlines and to-dos. After submitting their project proposals, students will be able to upload files and access their process journals. On the right hand side of the page, it is possible to select the status of the student's progress. This will alter the icon against that student and highlight them as On Track, Excellent or Concern.
Project Status: Marking the Project as Approved or Completed
Under the Project Status section, you can mark a student's project as Approved and/or Completed. Students can no longer make any changes when the worksheet has been marked as completed. Uncheck the status to allow students to make further changes.
Creating Project Deadlines and To-Dos
via the Project roster or Calendar tab
You can create project deadlines by clicking Add Deadline on the right navigation bar of the Personal Project, Community Project or Calendar tab in your year group.
- Enter basic details (name, date, & time)
- Link the deadline to your Personal Project or Community Project. Note: It is not possible to link a deadline after it has been created, so it's importing to link at this time.
- Enable Coursework Submission to allow students to submit their documents through ManageBac.
- If you Enable TurnItIn Feedback Studio, submitted coursework will be filtered through TurnItIn automatically.
If you choose to Attach Files, they will be available when the students access the deadline. Once you have clicked Add Deadline, the deadline will appear on the calendar.
You will need to add at least one To-Do item to ensure the deadline will appear on the student worksheet. You can assign To-Dos to students, advisors, or everyone. If you assign a To-Do to students only, advisors will not be able to check them off (and vice-versa for students).
Deadlines will appear on the student Project worksheet. To-Do items can also be reviewed and added via the worksheets tab.
You can also review the status of your students from the Personal Project/Community Project tab. The default view displays a list of the students assigned by advisor with key information and status (Needs Approval, Approved and Complete)..
To view progress against a specific deadline, you can switch to the Deadlines view. This will allow you to see where each of your students stand relative to the global deadlines that have been set (e.g. submitting an outline, meeting with advisor, etc.).
Uploading Project Documents
Under Project Documents, you can upload any relevant files. If your account has been integrated with Google Drive, you will see the option to upload documents directly from your Google Drive account
Adding Project Notes & Interviews
Via a Student's Project Worksheet
After selecting your student under the Personal Project/Community Project tab, scroll to the bottom of the worksheet to record a note or interview.
In Notes, you can leave notes for your student by entering text and clicking Post Note.
The note is automatically e-mailed to the student and also available in their ManageBac notifications inbox. The student can respond to provide a back-and-forth on their project. Click the 3 vertical dots next to a note to edit the note, or the rubbish bin to delete it.
If you tick Record as interview Note, the comment will be marked with an Interview label. Please note: by default students will not be able to view Interview Notes. This is a convenient way to store private notes from your meeting.
An admin can configure for Interview Notes to be shared to students via Settings > Security & Permissions > check Browse Interview Notes.
Meeting with Supervisor
The Meeting with Supervisor tab replaces the former "Academic Honesty Form". Now students are able to record meeting notes from their meetings with their Supervisors as parts of the updated Academic Integrity form that can be exported by the project supervisor via the top right of the tab.
The Supervisor Comment for the overall Project evaluation can be listed at the bottom of the tab.
All student meeting notes automatically lock 5 minutes after the student has recorded them.
