The Veracross Rostering Integration is designed for school IT and system administrators who need automatic syncing from Veracross (SIS) to ManageBac. Step-by-Step Navigation
Connecting ManageBac to Veracross
Settings > Partners > Veracross
- Request OAuth2 credentials (Client ID, Client Secret, School Route) from your Veracross administrator.
- Navigate in ManageBac to Settings > Partners > Veracross.
- Enter your Client ID, Client Secret, and School Route into the integration fields.
- Click Save to test and confirm the connection, including permission scope checks.
Setting up the OAuth Application in Veracross
Veracross > Admin > OAuth Applications
- In Veracross admin, add a new OAuth Application.
- Complete the required display information (application name, internal notes, contact email).
- Record your issued Client ID and Client Secret for ManageBac use.
- Ensure all required Data API scopes are enabled for the app (students:list, staff_faculty:list, etc.).

Configuring Rostering and Matching Classes
Settings > Data Exchange > Veracross > Config
- Navigate to the Config tab under Veracross in Data Exchange.
- Enable the "Enable Rostering" option if you want class membership imported.
- Decide on archival behaviour for unmatched classes (archive all unmatched, or only those with blank class IDs).
- Review unmatched Veracross sections listed under "Review" to ensure all classes are correctly mapped by Class ID.
- Click Save to apply your settings.
Importing Data and Scheduling Syncs
Settings > Data Exchange > Veracross > Import & Schedule
- Go to the Import tab and select between Bulk and Delta modes (Delta will unlock after a successful bulk sync).
- Click Run Import to trigger a manual data sync, bringing in students, staff, parents, and class enrolments.
- After a successful bulk sync, go to the Schedule tab.
- Choose a recurrring sync interval (2, 4, 8, or 24 hours).
- Enable the schedule toggle to start automated incremental (delta) syncs.
Tips & Best Practices
- Set up your Veracross OAuth application before configuring ManageBac—double check that all required API scopes are enabled.
- Pre-create all IB classes in ManageBac and set their class IDs to match with Veracross for smooth rostering imports.
- Start with a bulk import to establish your initial data set, then switch to scheduled delta syncs for ongoing updates.
- Regularly review unmatched class sections in the Config > Review tab to maintain clean, aligned data.
Warnings & Important Notes
- ManageBac does not create new classes based on Veracross data—classes must exist in ManageBac and have matched class IDs.
- Household addresses and additional contact details are not imported in this release, only people and class enrolments.
- Unmatched Veracross sections and their enrolments will be excluded from the sync.
