Quick answer

If your school uses a school Zoom account, an admin first approves the ManageBac+ app in the Zoom App Marketplace. Each teacher then selects Online Lesson, sets the location to Zoom and selects Click here to pair their Zoom account. After that, Zoom links are created automatically.

ManageBac+ integration with Zoom

For admins and teachers setting up Zoom so online lessons and calendar events get a meeting link automatically.

What the integration does

Zoom is a cloud platform for video, voice, content sharing and chat. Once linked, ManageBac+ creates a Zoom meeting link when you schedule:

  • an Online Lesson from a unit's Stream & Resources, the Class Calendar or the Quick Add button in the left menu
  • a calendar event, using Add Event and then Create Zoom Meeting. If the event is for certain students, only they can join.

Students find the link on their ManageBac+ calendar, or in the class by opening the unit.

Set up the integration

  1. School Zoom accounts only: a school admin approves the ManageBac+ app in the Zoom App Marketplace for the school's account.

  2. In a unit's Stream & Resources, the Class Calendar or Quick Add, select Online Lesson.

  3. Set Online Lesson Location to Zoom and select the Click here link to pair your account.

  4. Sign in to Zoom when asked. Your account is paired and you return to ManageBac+.

Questions

Does each teacher need their own Zoom account?

We strongly recommend it. With a shared Zoom account, meetings can be scheduled at the same time and clash.

Are Zoom meetings secure?

See Zoom's security page for recommended practices and GDPR compliance.
