Create a group

CAS project groups suit student clubs, service groups and sports teams. Each group has a calendar of events, a shared discussion forum and a common photo album.

  1. Go to Groups > Browse All Groups.

  2. Select Add Group.

  3. Fill in the group details and set Group Type to CAS Project. We also recommend opening Activity Details to select the types of CAS experience (Creativity, Activity, Service) and the learning outcomes.

  4. Save the group. It appears under Groups > Browse All Groups.

If Lock Membership is not enabled for the group, students can select Join. This adds them to the members roster so they can link the group to experiences on their CAS worksheet.

Add members and approve experiences

Group advisors can also add students themselves.

  1. Open the group and go to the Members tab, then select Add Members.

  2. To add the experience to each student's CAS worksheet, tick the Approved box for the student, or select Approve all Students (it shows as All Students Approved once everyone is approved). Bulk approval only applies to students in IB Diploma year groups.

Once an experience is approved, unticking the box does not remove it from the student's CAS worksheet. You must delete it directly in their worksheet.

Reflections and reviews

The Reflections tab shows how many reflections each student has added in their CAS worksheet. Select a student's name to view their reflections.

On the Reviews page, group advisors can, for each student:

  1. Enter a Supervisor Comment.

  2. Select the Learning Outcomes met.

  3. Change the Status to In Progress, Reviewed or Reviewed as Incomplete.

  4. Select Save Changes to submit or edit the review.
