In your class, go to Tasks > Add Task. Under Submission Type, choose AssessPrep Online Assessment and then Create Online Assessment (or Link Online Assessment for an existing one). After you save, select Edit in AssessPrep to add questions.
For teachers at schools with the ManageBac+ and AssessPrep integration who want to create AssessPrep online assessments from ManageBac+ tasks and link them together.

Step 1: Create a points-based DP or non-IB task
First create a ManageBac+ task. You then link the AssessPrep assessment to it.

In the class, open Tasks and select Add Task at the top right.

Fill in the required fields, marked with an asterisk (*).

Under Student Differentiation, choose who gets the task: students at a level (for example, HL or SL in IB DP) or a specific set of students.

Select a points-based assessment and set the Max Points.
Optional: select Save as Draft to hide the task from students and parents, or Notify Students via E-mail.

Select Create Task, or Add Another Task to create it and open a new task form.
Only assigned students can see the AssessPrep assessment. Teachers cannot grade unassigned students for the task.
You can leave Dropbox turned off if you plan to link the task to an AssessPrep assessment.
Or: create a criteria-based MYP task
In the MYP class, open Tasks and select Add Task. The steps are the same as for DP tasks, except that you select criteria as the assessment type.
If you choose points-based assessment for an MYP task, it is replaced by criteria assessment once the task is linked to AssessPrep.
Step 2: Create or link the AssessPrep assessment

New task: go to Submission Type > AssessPrep Online Assessment and choose Create Online Assessment or Link Online Assessment.

Existing task: open the task, select Edit Task, then Submission Type, and choose Create Online Assessment or Link Online Assessment.

Select Create Online Assessment and fill in the Delivery Mode, Start condition and Close Condition.

Save the task. Then select Edit in AssessPrep to open your AssessPrep account and add content and questions, as described in Part II, Adding Content and Questions, of the Creating an Online Assessment via AssessPrep guide.

The online assessment now shows in the ManageBac+ task details. Use Open in AssessPrep next to it to go straight to it.

1. The assessment type is not supported. Only these types work:

Comments Only is not supported. Supported options are highlighted with the AssessPrep colour and logo. If Comments Only is selected, you cannot save the task and you see the error "AssessPrep assessments can't be blank". Select one of the highlighted options to fix it.
2. The Google Docs coursework template is on. Google Docs coursework submission and AssessPrep online assessment cannot be used together.
3. An assessment is already linked. Each ManageBac+ task can have only one online assessment.
Frequently asked questions
Who is the author of an AssessPrep assessment created from ManageBac+?
All teachers who are members of the class are added as authors in AssessPrep.
What if the task's max points differ from the AssessPrep assessment's total?
The ManageBac+ task points are replaced by the total points of the linked AssessPrep assessment.
Can I link several AssessPrep assessments to one task?
No. Each task links to one assessment. For more assessments, create more tasks.
How do I archive an AssessPrep assessment that is linked to ManageBac+?
First unlink or delete the linked assessment from the ManageBac+ task. You can then archive it in AssessPrep.
Can I use Turnitin on a task linked to AssessPrep?
Not at present. Turnitin is not available for ManageBac+ tasks linked to AssessPrep assessments.
