In a DP Mathematics class, select the IA tab. The first time, set the due date and options for the final submission task and select Create Task. After that, the IA tab opens the task, where you collect, annotate and download students' explorations.

Set up the final submission task
Open your DP Mathematics class and select the IA tab. The first time, the task form appears with the title filled in.
Set the Due Date & Time. Levels (HL, SL or both) follow the levels set for students on the class Members page. Check the Type.
Under Assessment Options, Comments and IB Assessment are selected with the IB criteria for your subject. The exploration uses criteria A: Presentation, B: Mathematical communication, C: Personal engagement, D: Reflection and E: Use of mathematics.
Under Submission Type, keep Coursework Submissions on. You can also Set Submission Opening Date and, if your school uses Turnitin, tick Turnitin Feedback Studio.
Choose any Additional Options, such as Notify via E-mail, then select Create Task.
Grades and comments on IB final submission tasks are hidden from students by default, and you cannot share annotations on these tasks. If you want students to submit a draft for feedback, create a separate practice task (see below).
To change the task later, open it and select Edit Task.
Collect and download submissions
Once the task exists, the IA tab opens it. Students submit from the task in their Tasks & Deadlines or Calendar, like any other task.
In Dropbox and eCoursework Submission you can see each student's status, files, annotation and Turnitin result, and:
- select Prepare all files as ZIP to download every submission;
- select Lock All Submissions to stop further uploads;
- select Extend Due Date to give individual students more time.
The task also appears under the class Tasks tab, so you can manage it there like any other task.
Annotate or assess submissions
- Select the icon in the Annotation column to open the work in the split-screen view and annotate it alongside the criteria.
- Select Open in Gradebook on the task to enter criteria marks and comments for each student.
See Annotating student work in the split-screen gradebook and Marking Tasks via the Gradebook.
Prepare files for IB eCoursework
Files submitted to the final submission task are saved as IB eCoursework files in each student's portfolio. Open a student's profile, go to Portfolio and select eCoursework Portfolio. Subjects and components come from the subjects on the student's IBIS Plan Worksheet. Track progress across the year group in the eCoursework Dashboard.
See IB Diploma eCoursework Dashboard, Uploading to IB eCoursework from ManageBac+ and IBIS Exam Registration Quickstart Guide.
Set practice tasks with IB criteria
To help students prepare, create a regular task from the class Tasks tab and choose IB Assessment as an assessment option. You can select only some of the criteria. If the task should count towards the term grade, add Points as well. Unlike the final submission, you can share grades, comments and annotations on these tasks.
