Quick answer

Observers have read-only access to the parts of ManageBac+ your school chooses, such as unit plans or classes. Sign in, check what you can see and set your notifications.

An observer account lets someone such as a site visitor, inspector or board member look at ManageBac+ without changing anything. Your school decides what you can see.

  1. Get set upSteps 1 and 2: sign in and set your details and notifications.
  2. Look aroundStep 3: find what your school has shared with you.

1. Get set up

Step 1: Sign in

Use the link in your welcome email to set your password. After that, sign in from the ManageBac+ login page with your email.

Step 2: Check your details and notifications

Select your profile photo at the top right to update your details and choose your Notification Preferences.

More: Updating your account details, notifications and preferences.

2. Look around

Step 3: Find what has been shared with you

Use the left menu to open what your school has given you access to, for example Classes, Year Groups or the curriculum under Insights. Everything is read-only: you can open and read, but not add, edit or delete. If something you expected is missing, ask the school to check your observer permissions.

On your phone

You can also sign in to the ManageBac+ app for iOS and Android. See Using the ManageBac+ mobile app.

When you need help

For access or permission questions, contact the school that gave you your observer account.
