Unit & Lesson Redesign

August 14, 2026

You can view/manage your units and add unit content without leaving the page. Tasks and Units, previously combined in a single scrolling tab, now have dedicated spaces:

  • Grid view gives each unit visual identity and additional context, replacing the old plain list.
  • Clear separation of archived and active content , so archived units can be filtered on their own with no extra clicks to reset the view.
  • Quick Add lets teachers manage statuses and create relevant content instantly, without interrupting their workflow.

The Unit Details screen has been rebuilt for clarity:

  • An improved header section holds all the required unit information while making better use of space.
  • Lessons & Resources: the Stream & Resources tab has been renamed to better reflect its content.

  • Clearer placeholders guide teachers through the lesson-creation flow
  • More room for the work  smaller buttons and secondary elements leave more space for primary content.
  • Quick access to Resources
  • Expanded left navigation in the Lesson experience, so teachers move between sections and content faster.

Both Teacher Notes and Description & Guidance now appear directly in the lesson view while  previously they were hidden and only reachable through Edit.

The Lessons Outline UI has been updated, with quick access to resources built in.

Previously the planner showed only the lessons scheduled for today, making it hard to move between lessons. The new Week view gives a structured overview of the active unit, with lessons grouped by week. Teachers can review lesson details at a glance and expand any week to see the associated tasks and resources.

Resources are now managed where they belong:

  • Define view permissions and control what’s shared with students and parents versus what stays visible to teachers only.
  • Reuse the same resources across multiple lessons.
  • Filter resources by audience, and search by name or file type.

The result is Lessons & Resources: a single, central place to view and manage all lessons, open attached resources, and add new ones quickly and easily.

  1. How can I reorder lessons within a Unit?

Lessons within a Unit are ordered based on their start date. This allows us to group lessons by week in the Unit Week View.

If you’d like to change the ordering of lessons, you can update the start date of the lesson. Lessons without a date are shown at the bottom of the list.

  1. How can I unlink a resource from a lesson?

Resources can currently be reorganized within a lesson using drag and drop.

To unlink a resource from a lesson, go to the Resources section and click “Change lesson” or “Link with lesson.” From there, you can unlink the resource or relink it to another lesson.

In a future iteration, we plan to add an option to unlink a resource directly from the lesson, without requiring you to navigate to the Resources section.

  1. Can the visibility of a resource be changed after it has been created? For example, can I change it from “Teachers only” to “Students and parents”?

Currently, visibility can be configured when adding a file. We’ll soon add this option when editing a resource, so you’ll be able to update its visibility permissions after it’s been created.

eCoursework Dashboard

May 27, 2026

Schools can now monitor Internal Assessments (IA), External Assessments (EA), and CORE components from a single dashboard view, helping identify missing submissions and at-risk students earlier in the school year. The new workflow also introduces IB upload requirement linking, allowing students and teachers to map uploaded files directly to IB submission requirements. This creates a clear audit trail and improves submission readiness before IBIS deadlines.

Tagged Learning Outcomes export

April 30, 2026

The new Tagged Learning Outcomes export provides a comprehensive view of student-level coverage for Approaches to Learning, Learner Profile Skills, Transdisciplinary Themes, Standards, Syllabus, and Scope & Sequences, giving curriculum coordinators and school leaders the data they need to identify gaps and ensure well-rounded coverage of learning outcomes.

The export is available via the Portfolio Roster page > Export Learning Outcomes. This generates a .zip file containing individual .xls files for every student in the grade, so schools can analyze tagged learning outcomes at both the individual and cohort level. This enables teachers and admins to export learning outcome coverage data for each student in a selected grade across Portfolio and Class Stream posts.

MYP Academic Analytics

April 20, 2026

ManageBac+ Academic Analytics now serves all MYP students and coordinators with the same navigation model, depth, and decision-making tools as DP, purpose-built for MYP's assessment and curriculum structure. It gives school leaders, coordinators, teachers, and support teams a single, coherent view of academic performance, enabling faster, more confident decisions that are grounded in MYP-aligned evidence.

The mini profile displays up to three sections depending on what the admin has configured:

  • Tags — Labels applied to the student in OpenApply (e.g. ESL, SEN, Medical Alert)

  • General — Custom field values, including grouped fields such as parent/guardian information

If a student is not synced to OpenApply, the Mini Profile section does not appear.

Sum & Average of Final Term Grades

March 16, 2026

We’ve added SUM and AVG aggregation options on the IB DP Multi Curricula report card templates.

  • AVG of - displays the average of selected rubric scores on the report card

Both options are independent and unchecked by default. When either is enabled, two additional configuration fields appear:

  • Label - customisable text displayed alongside the value (e.g. "Total IB Grade"). A default label is pre-filled and required - if left blank and saved, the default will be restored automatically.
  • Suffix - optional text appended to the value
These settings apply to both the PDF report template and the web report view.

Duplicating Units & Sharing

March 11, 2026

Teachers can now duplicate a unit directly from the Unit Planner Details sidebar using a new “Duplicate Unit” button.

The duplication feature allows you to create a copy of a unit while controlling whether it is immediately active or saved as a draft in your class or other shared classes.  By default, “Mark as Draft in This Class” checkbox is unchecked and “Mark as Draft in Shared Classes” is selected. If all options are  unchecked, the duplicated unit is created as active in all relevant classes.
