Duplicate a unit to reuse it
Copy a unit to reuse it in another section or a new academic year, and choose whether the copy starts as a draft or goes live straight away.

Duplicate a unit
- Find the unitOpen your class and select the unit from the class overview, or open Units for the full list.

DuplicateClick Duplicate Unit in the right-hand sidebar.
- Choose draft optionsIn the confirmation window, choose where the copy should be a draft (see below).

ConfirmClick Duplicate.
Draft options
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mark as Draft in This Class | The copy is a draft in this class, so you can edit it first. Drafts are hidden from students and parents and left out of the class unit list. |
| Mark as Draft in Shared Classes | The copy is a draft in every other class with the same subject and grade. |
| Neither ticked | The copy is Active in every class straight away. |

The copy appears in the unit list straight away as Duplicated - [original unit title]. Edit it on its own, including duration, grade levels, pacing and content.
Bring in tasks, lessons and resources
- Open the copyOpen the duplicated unit and select Stream & Resources.
- ImportClick Import Resource, then choose the original unit and class.
- Choose what to bringSelect the lesson experiences, resources or assessments, whole or in part, and click Import.
- OrganiseArrange the sequence with lesson experiences, the Stream and assessment tasks.

💡 Good practice
- Use duplication to prepare next year's units while keeping the current ones unchanged. Export the original to PDF first to keep a record.
- Keep the copy as a draft while you edit, before sharing it with students or colleagues.
- Rename the copy so it is easy to tell apart from the original.
