Quick answer

Go to Class > Tasks & Units > select the unit > Stream & Resources. Use Add Resource for new resources, Import Resources to bring in Stream items and lesson experiences from another class, and the Assessment Task or Lesson Experience buttons to create those.

Adding unit resources, tasks and lesson experiences from My School ResourceBank

For teachers building a unit's Stream & Resources and reusing material from other classes.

Add a new resource

  1. Go to Class > Tasks & Units, select the unit and select Stream & Resources.

  2. Select Add Resource and choose the type: website or video, files, photos, a note, or a file from Google Drive.

  3. Add the details. Choose whether to share the resource with students and parents in the Stream, or only add it to the unit's Resources list.

Import from My School ResourceBank

Import Resources adds Stream items and lesson experiences from other classes that use the same unit.

  1. In Stream & Resources, select Import Resources.

  2. Select the Unit to import from, then the class where the lesson experiences were created.

  3. Select the Lesson Experiences and the resources in them to import.

  4. Select Proceed, or Proceed and import Next to add more. The items are added to your unit's Stream and Resources.

Create a task

Select Assessment Task at the top of Stream & Resources. This opens the Assessment tab to create a task for the unit. The task goes straight into the unit's Stream.

Tasks marked as Draft are not visible to students and parents.

Create a lesson experience

Lesson experiences are plans you group Stream resources into, for example by week, topic or individual learning support.

  1. Select Lesson Experience at the top of the Stream.

  2. Enter a Title, and a description and times if needed, then select Save Changes. The lesson experience shows the resources linked to it.

Organise the Stream

  • Use the arrow buttons to move resources between the Stream and Resources sections.
  • Drag and drop resources within the Stream to change their order.
  • Filter resources by type to find what to add to the Stream.
  • Select the three vertical dots on a resource for more options.

Add resources to a task

  1. Open the task and select Add Resource to add task-specific resources.

  2. To reuse resources from the unit, select Link Unit Resources, choose the resources and select Save Changes.

Link Unit Resources only shows if the task is linked to a unit that has resources.

Set the same task for several class sections

  1. Create the unit and add its resources.

  2. Create the task and use Additional Classes at the bottom of the task form to add it to other classes of the same subject and grade level.

  3. The task is added to the Resources section of the linked unit in every class section.

  4. In each class, open the unit's Stream & Resources and move the related resources to the Stream ahead of the task, so students follow the sequence. Students see Stream items in the Units tab and parents in the Class Overview.

  5. Use the arrow buttons and drag and drop to set the order in each class section.
