Sharing unit plans and resources across schools, groups or districts

For schools in a school group or district that want to share units, lesson experiences and Stream resources.

What is the District ResourceBank?

The District ResourceBank (DRB) is a bank of units that only the schools in your school group or district can see. It shows as a tab on the Import Units page. Teachers in other schools in the group can copy a shared unit into their own classes as a new unit. The original unit stays unchanged.

Set up the District ResourceBank

  1. Submit a request with a list of all schools in the group or district and their ManageBac+ domains.

  2. The ManageBac+ team links the schools into a School Group / District. This takes 3 to 5 business days.

To add more schools to the group later, contact the ManageBac+ team to update the list.

Share a unit

  1. Open any unit in a class and open the right sidebar.

  2. Select Share in District.

  3. Select Proceed with Import, or Proceed and Import Next to import more units.

Your class must be in the same subject and grade level as the class the unit was shared from. For example, a Biology unit cannot go into a Chemistry subject class, but a unit from a class linked to the Sciences subject can go into any class linked to Sciences.

Frequently asked questions

Which programmes can share units?

Only programmes that use the default subjects. Units in custom subjects cannot be shared. Programmes with default subjects are:

  • IB Diploma Programme
  • IB Career-related Programme
  • IB Middle Years Programme
  • Cambridge programmes (Lower Secondary, IGCSE, A Levels)
  • Pearson Edexcel programmes (GCSE, BTEC, A Levels)
  • Advanced Placement
Which fields are shared?
  • If your school's unit template hides fields the original school filled in, you will not see them.
  • If your school has several unit templates for the programme, the imported unit uses your default template.
  • Configurable content, such as Approaches to Learning skills or Standards and Benchmarks, is not shared. Select these again in the imported unit.
Can I preview a unit before importing?

No. You can only see how many lessons and resources are attached to the unit.

How do I share an updated version?

Shared units do not update automatically in the DRB.

  1. In the original school, remove the unit from the DRB.
  2. Update the unit.
  3. Share it to the DRB again.
  4. Other schools import the new version and can archive or delete the old one.

Imported units, and any changes made to them, cannot be shared back to the district.
