What is ManageBac+?
ManageBac+ is an online planning, assessment and reporting platform that schools use to manage academic programmes in one system. It was founded in 2006.
Why should I choose ManageBac+?
ManageBac+ gives coordinators, teachers, students and parents an alternative to paper forms, shared documents and spreadsheets. It supports the implementation and management of academic programmes such as the IB, IGCSE, AP and other standards.
How much does ManageBac+ cost?
ManageBac+ is an annual subscription. Pricing depends on the total number of students and is not fixed. For a quotation, contact sales@managebac.com.
In what languages is ManageBac+ available?
For students, teachers and admins, the interface is available in English, Spanish and Simplified Chinese. For parents, it is also available in Arabic, Japanese, French and Traditional Chinese. Text fields support Unicode formatting for major languages.
Who is behind ManageBac+?

What is your relationship with the IB?
ManageBac+ has been granted licences by the IB for specific uses, including forms, curriculum and assessment information, and IBIS integration for exam registration. How do I sign up for ManageBac+?
Sign up through the ManageBac+ website.
What do you need from me to get set up?
Your school is assigned an Implementation Manager during set-up. They guide the implementation process, learn your school's goals, support data input and train staff during the implementation period. Read more on the ManageBac+ support page.
How do users access ManageBac+?
Each school account has its own unique domain. Users receive a welcome email, set their password, then sign in with their email address and password on the school's domain. See Assisting Users Access to ManageBac+ (Sending Welcome E-mails or Change Passwords).
What user types can access ManageBac+?
Students, Parents, Teachers or Advisors, and Administrators or Coordinators can all access ManageBac+ once they have been sent welcome emails. A read-only Observer user type is also available. See Managing User Permissions & Security.
When setting up your school:
- Keep a record of your school's unique ManageBac+ domain so users know where to sign in.
- Make sure users receive their welcome emails and set their password before first access.
- Review user roles and permissions early, so each person's access matches their responsibilities.

What do I need to run ManageBac+?
ManageBac+ is web-based. You need an internet connection and a modern browser with JavaScript enabled. Use the latest version of a supported browser for the best experience. Mobile access is also available for supported users.
What language is ManageBac+ built on?
ManageBac+ is built on Ruby on Rails and is W3C compliant.
Where is ManageBac+ hosted?
ManageBac+ is hosted in the cloud in Amazon Web Services data centres in Canada, the United States and China. The hosting location depends on where the school is and on local data protection laws.
Is ManageBac+ GDPR compliant? How secure is ManageBac+?
ManageBac+ uses security best practices to protect its systems, including secure connections and ongoing security review. It is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant. See the Security and Compliance page for details.
Are files backed up?
Yes. Files are backed up in real time on redundant local storage, with additional daily and off-site backups.
Can I export information from ManageBac+?
Yes. You can export student information as PDF forms and CSV exports, and download files submitted by students.

Support, training and service options are available through FariaSupport and the Faria Service Hub. Some support and service options depend on your school's Faria support plan.
