Decide who can use ManageBac+ AI and explain how data is protected
ManageBac+ AI is switched off until an administrator turns it on. This guide brings together the settings you control and the answers staff and families usually ask about data.
Switch on the Writing Assistant
- Enable it for the schoolGo to Settings > School Settings > ManageBac AI > AI Suite and enable Writing Assistant.
- Give teachers and advisors accessBy default only administrators can use it. Go to Settings > Security & Permissions > Teachers & Advisors > Default Permissions to allow everyone.
- Or choose individual staffUse Individual Permissions on the same page to turn it on or off for specific people.
What to tell staff and families about data

No personal data shared
ManageBac+ does not share personally identifiable information with third-party AI models.

Only what users choose
Models only see content a user selects or types in.

Not used for training
Prompts and responses are not used to train AI models.

Safeguarding filters
Harmful requests are refused with a message to the person who asked.
The Writing Assistant works in web and mobile browsers. It is not yet in the ManageBac+ iOS or Android apps.

Who sees the prompts?
Queries and responses are logged and only available to trained specialists, who review them to improve the service.
Is data moved between regions?
ManageBac+ does not transfer personal or sensitive data across regions when using AI models.
