Hover over the error icon next to a submission in the Task or Deadline dropbox to see the error. Fix the cause in the table below, then select Submit Coursework to Turnitin in the dropbox to resend the files and generate the Similarity Index.

A black triangle with an exclamation mark means Turnitin could not generate a Similarity Index for that file. Hover over it to see why.
Late Submissions are not allowed

In the Task or Deadline dropbox, select Feedback Studio.

In the Assignment Inbox, select Settings > Optional Settings. See Turnitin's guide to additional assignment settings.

Tick the box to allow late submissions and select Submit at the bottom of the page.
Back in ManageBac+, select Submit Coursework to Turnitin on the Task or Deadline.
You can see the new Similarity Index in the Feedback Studio Assignment Inbox. In ManageBac+, it shows after you reopen the dropbox from the Calendar or Tasks page.
Assignment Line Item not found
The most common cause is that Turnitin was turned on for the Task or Deadline after its due date. You can turn Turnitin on at any time, but the integration only works if it is on before the due date.
Edit the Task or Deadline, move the due date to the future and turn on Turnitin at the same time.
Select Submit Coursework to Turnitin in the dropbox to resend files already submitted.
Still showing? The integration credentials may be wrong. Select Feedback Studio for a more specific message.
Go to Settings > Integrations > Partners > Turnitin and make sure the credentials match your school's Turnitin account.
Open the dropbox and select Submit Coursework to Turnitin.
Class Expired
The full message is: "Submissions are no longer allowed because this class has expired and has become read-only."
This shows on Year Group Deadlines and on two-year classes that have been transitioned. Turnitin sets every class to one academic year by default, and it counts ManageBac+ year groups as classes.
Ask your school's Turnitin admin to extend the class. See Turnitin's guide to managing a class.
Select Submit Coursework to Turnitin in the dropbox in ManageBac+.

The assignment data usually did not reach Turnitin. Select Submit Coursework to Turnitin in the panel on the right of the Task to resend it.

Very high or 100% similarity from one submission
This usually happens on Tasks or Deadlines with a draft and a final version. Turnitin compares the final version with the student's own draft.
When you create the Task or Deadline, go to Feedback Studio > Settings > Optional Settings and choose one of these:
Do not store the draft in the paper repository. The final version is then not compared with the draft.
Do not compare against the student paper repository. This avoids a high index from earlier copies.
To fix one submission: select the Similarity Index to open it in Turnitin and exclude specific sources.
The adjusted index shows in Turnitin only. The ManageBac+ gradebook keeps the original value.
