How can Parents submit excusals

Parents can submit attendance excusals for their children via their ManageBac+ account.

For further information on how parents submit attendance excusals, please see the following tutorial:

Additionally, if schools notify parents of Homeroom Absences via email, parents can also access the Excusal page via link from the email they received.

Receiving Excusals

When parents submit an attendance excusal, administrators will receive a notification. The same information will be displayed in the child's Homeroom and classes.

Administrators can view the attendance excusals for homeroom and classes via the Attendance Manager > Homeroom page.

Parents will receive a copy of their excusal note with the Homeroom Absence notification, if the school has email notifications for Homeroom Absences enabled.

Hide Attendance Excusals from Parents

Attendance Excusals can be hidden from parents. This is a school-wide setting and it’s not available per programme. The ability to submit attendance excusals can be hidden from parents via Settings > Attendance & Calendar > Settings. You can un-check “Enable Parent Excusals” and then Save Changes. (This is enabled by default)

This will remove the option to submit an excusal for parents on ManageBac for both web and mobile.  Parents will not see previous Attendance history if this option was turned on with excusals submitted and then turned off.
