Track student Service Learning (SL) progress, export programme data, and generate customised reports for students, parents, and advisors in ManageBac+.
The SL roster provides coordinators with tools to monitor student progress, export programme data, and generate reports for individual students or entire year groups.
Reports can be customised, generated individually or in bulk, stored within ManageBac+, and shared with students and parents throughout the SL journey.

Within Year Group > SL, coordinators can access tools to export student data and generate SL progress reports.

Step by Step Navigation
Export an SL Summary to Excel
- Navigate to Year Group > SL.
- Select Export to Excel from the right-hand panel.
- Download the generated spreadsheet for analysis or import into another system.
Generate SL Reports in Bulk
SL Progress Reports can be customised, generated, stored within ManageBac+, and shared with students and parents. Reports can be generated at any stage of a student's SL journey.
Via the SL Roster > Generate Reports
- Navigate to Year Group > SL.
- Select Generate Reports.
- Customise the report template and reporting options.
- Select Save Changes to retain the template or Generate Report to create PDF reports.
Generate an Individual Student Report
- Open the student's SL Worksheet.
- Select Generate Reports.
- Review the student details.
- Configure the report options.
- Generate the PDF report.
The same report configuration options are available whether reports are generated individually or in bulk.
Access Generated Reports
- Open the student's SL Worksheet.
- Navigate to the SL Documents section.
- Open or download previously generated PDF reports.

Excel Export Contents
The exported spreadsheet includes three worksheets:
- Summary – student information, advisors, learning outcomes, reflections, evidence, and interviews.
- Extended Projects – project information and associated service experiences.
- Experiences by Student – detailed experience records, supervisors, dates, and completion status.
Report Template Configuration
SL reports can be customised using a wide range of template settings, including:
- Term name, report name, coordinator name, and title.
- SL advisor information.
- Parent email notifications.
- File naming conventions.
- Report signatures.
- Programme and experience descriptions.
- Reflections, learning outcomes, meeting logs, and supervisor reviews.
- Custom progress descriptors.
Warnings & Important Notes
- Only experiences, interview notes, and supervisor review comments within the selected reporting period are included in reports.
- Archived experiences are excluded from reports.
- Bulk report generation may take up to 30 minutes to complete.
- An email notification is sent once report generation has finished.
- Deleting a report set removes both the bulk report package and associated student PDF reports.
