Tracking SL Progress

Under the SL tab of a year group, you can find functions on the right-hand side to assist with tracking student progress, and generating summaries

Exporting SL Summary to Excel
Via Year Group > SL > Export to Excel
Navigate to your year group > SL and on the right-hand side click Export to Excel.
Clicking Export to Excel will create a spreadsheet of the summary worksheet, allowing you to import information into your own student information system or run further analysis. The export also includes a report on student Projects and a complete list of all SL experiences by student.

SL Progress Reports
SL Progress reports can be customised, generated and stored in ManageBac, as well as shared with Students & Parents. They can be generated at any time, and as many times as you like, throughout the students SL journey.
Generating SL Reports in Bulk
Via the SL Roster > Generate Reports
Note: Accessing Generate Reports from the SL Roster is where you can prepare reports for all students in the year group in bulk. If you are only looking to generate an individual progress report, please navigate to the students SL Worksheet > Generate Reports.
Once you have clicked Generate Reports, you can customize your report template. Making edits here, you can click Save Changes to keep the template for use later, or Generate Report to publish PDF report cards.
Customizing SL Report Templates
Date Period (Important!)
- Please note, only those Experiences, Interview Notes and Supervisor Review Comments added, started and ending between the report start and end dates will be populated into the SL reports
- To exclude any experiences from the report, you can archive the experience as needed.
General Template options:
- Set Term Name, Report Name, Coordinator Name and Title
- Optionally include the students assigned SL Advisor
- Notify Parents via E-mail upon generation
- File Name Format: Arrange by Student ID or Student ID and Name
- Upload Report Signature

- Custom Descriptions: Optionally set a custom descriptions for
- Experience description (ie what is an Experience)
- Programme description (ie what is SL)
- Learning Outcomes description
- Footer
- SL Fields: Decide to include or not the following fields
- Experience Strand
- Learning Outcomes
- Reflections
- Supervisor Review Comments
- Location (In-school or Out-of-school)
- Experience Status
- Meeting Logs

Progress Descriptors
On the additional tab Progress Descriptors, you can set custom descriptors to appear on the reports.
When you have finished customizing your report, click Generate Report at the bottom of the page. The process of generating reports can take up to 30 minutes to complete. You will receive an e-mail notification when your reports are ready.
Consolidated reports as well as a ZIP of individual PDFs for each student can be viewed under Existing Reports tab. Delete a Report set by clicking the rubbish bin icon. Note, this will delete both the bulk set as well as the report PDF found on students SL worksheets.
Generating SL Reports Individually
Via a Students SL Worksheet
To generate a SL report for an individual student, select the student from the SL roster and click Generate Reports from their SL worksheet. You can view the student you are reviewing prior to confirming generating the report card.
You are presented with the same customization options as when generating reports in bulk.
Accessing SL Reports
Once the reports have been generated, the PDF will be stored under the SL Documents section of the student's worksheet.
Can Students & Parents view Reports?
Regardless of whether reports are generated by year group or by student, these appear for the student to view via their SL Worksheet under the Documents tab.
Students & Parents can also view these reports via their child's Portfolio > Files > SL folder.
