Help Tutorials, Quickstart Guides and Resources to help you make the most of ManageBac.
Under the Homeroom tab in your left-hand menu (for Homeroom Attendance), or Attendance tab within a class (for Class Attendance), teachers can mark attendance for the current day / period.
Teachers can either select an appropriate option from the Mark all as dropdown (e.g. Present, Absent, Late, Health, Field trip) which will apply the category for all students in the list, or by clicking the relevant label for an individual student directly. Attendance information is automatically saved.
Students are listed in alphabetical order. You can search for a student by typing their name next to the magnifying glass symbol. If you have students assigned to you across programmes, select the relevant tab at the top of the page and the list will update.
You can click on the speech bubble to enter a comment for the student. If a parent has submitted an attendance excusal through ManageBac, it will appear in the comments section.
You can view attendance for other days by clicking on the relevant date, or hover over the calendar icon to view a students attendance tally. The Homeroom or Class totals will update on the right-hand side, as well as an indication of the last time that attendance was updated, and by whom.
Attendance records can be exported via Export to Excel.
Teachers can take Attendance via the Attendance tab in their classes. Class attendance can be marked for all students by selecting a relevant option in the Mark All As dropdown, or individually by clicking the relevant category.
Parent attendance excusals will also appear in each of the student classes for the day that it was submitted for. If a student is absent in the Homeroom, this will be indicated in their classes.
The rotation and periods the class is configured for displays on the right-hand side. You can configure your attendance settings via Attendance Settings.
Click the period box to indicate the classes roster. You can also include room locations which will display on student timetables, Save Changes.
Class Timetables can be configured in bulk by an admin. Read more here.
