Turnitin Legacy Integration was upgraded to LTI Integration on March 17, 2017. Any school using the legacy integration prior to this time must enable LTI Integration on Turnitin and ManageBac by July 31, 2018 when the legacy integration will be deprecated.
Who can do this?
This tutorial must be completed by the school Turnitin Admin (only 1 per school) and a ManageBac admin.
First, your Turnitin administrator must sign in to TurnitIn.com, then navigate to Administrator > Accounts.
Select Configured for the ManageBac account via the 'Integrations' column.
Note that your Turnitin Account ID is also located on this page.
Click LTI API as your preferred integration. If you do not see LTI API as an option, make sure that All is selected at the top right of the menu.
Complete the following fields:
You can leave both of the other fields with the defaults in place (e.g. 255.255.255.255 for the IP address and http://www.turnitin.com/api_error.asp for the Error Callback URL).
Note: Changing the IP address from 255.255.255.255 will restrict access and prevent ManageBac from passing on your files to Turnitin, so it is important that these fields are kept as the defaults.
Once you have configured your Integration settings, sign back into ManageBac as an Administrator. Navigate to Settings > Integrations > Partners > Turnitin.
Complete the following:
Please note that (2) & (3) are required in order to effectively link your accounts. They are case-sensitive, so they must match identically. Once saved, you can test out the LTI integration by enabling Turnitin on a fake deadline. See here for further guidance.
Note: For schools who were using the Legacy Turnitin Integration prior to March, 2017, these originality reports are no longer visible on ManageBac. Legacy assignments can only be viewed by logging-in natively to the Turnitin website.
