Configuring Your General Settings

Via Settings

Via Settings > School Settings, you can adjust the following settings:

  • Your school name, languages,  time zone, and logo.
  • Academic Functions
  • CAS & Service Action
  • Terminology
  • Customise Login Page


Via Academics, you can enable Curriculum Programmes, Classes, Parents Association, Crocodoc Annotations, Percentage Weights for class gradebooks, Grade & Year Format.

Here you can edit the abbreviations and names for National Curriculum Programmes to match your local naming requirements.

CAS and Service Action

Via CAS & Service Action, edit the guidance for students and supervisors. You can also allow activities to be marked as Complete and locked if supervisor has submitted review that it was completed successfully.


Via Terminology, customise specific titles besides the generic default titles we have provided. These updates will be reflected across your account, and in report cards.

Note: Our tutorials use the default terminology, your ManageBac account may appear differently from the ones shown in the tutorials.

Customise Login Page

You can enable the default (blank) background, choose from our custom backgrounds, or upload a file. Click Save Changes when complete.

Access Permissions & Security Settings

Configure what teachers, students & parents can and cannot do on their accounts via Settings > Access Permissions & Security.

For Teachers, it’s recommended to give Read-only access to student profiles, and to disable the ability to Create Classes.

Here you can also loosen password requirements for students & parents. Teachers & Administrators are required to use a strong password.
