The Submit Term Grades tab of the Gradebook shows the cumulative average of assessed assignments in the class. There are two options for how this average can be calculated, both configured via your School Settings.
Navigate to Settings > School Settings > Academics. Here you can choose to use either percentage weights or not.
Click here for more information on how this calculation impacts the Gradebook.
If you have Use Percentage Weights enabled, assignments in a class are averaged by category, then the weighting is applied and the averages from the assignments are added and divided by the total weighting.
Calculation Formula with Percentage Weights:
If you do not use percentage weights, every assignment is multiplied by the assignment weighting, then added together and divided by the total weighting.
Calculation Formula without Percentage Weights:
Navigate to Settings > Programme > Grades to configure default grade conversions for any new C1 classes created. Note that this scale is applied to all assignments.
Each class can have it's own unique Grades Scale. This is customisable by any admin or the class teacher via the class Overview tab > Edit Class Settings > Grades. Again, this scale is applied to all assignment & term grades calculations of IB grades.
Firstly, navigate to Tasks and Units, and click Add New Task. From the right navigational panel click the Manage Categories button.
Assignment Categories are configured on a class-by-class basis. Here teachers can customise and color-code assignment categories. These assignment category weightings are applied to the final grade calculation when entering term grades.
• To delete a category, click the checkbox in the delete column of the category that you wish to delete
• To edit a category, type in the new name in the text field, and click on the color palette to select a new color for the label.
• To add a new category, click Add New and type in the name and select a color for the label.
Please make sure you click Save Changes to apply the changes to your class.
