Schools who manage users with Clever can share their data directly with ManageBac+, enabling teacher, students, and parents to use their Clever credentials to login (SSO), and optionally to automatically add and update the school's roster (User Provisioning).
Initial Setup on ManageBac+
Via Settings > Integrations > Partners > Clever
An admin on your account can request to enable Login with Google by navigating to Settings > Integrations > Partners and clicking Clever.
The school can choose between enabling SSO only or enabling both SSO and User Provisioning by clicking the respective button in the Clever partner page:
Once clicked, the respective button will change to Waiting for Integration and your school's ManageBac+ School Experience Manager will be in touch within 24 hrs to confirm your interest in enabling single sign-on for Clever.
Schools can choose the style of integration, depending on their particular context and needs. The following table illustrates how the two subscriptions differ:

Initial Setup on Clever
Schools share their data with ManageBac+ via the Clever interface. When this is initiated, notifications are sent to the ManageBac+ team for approval. There may be a slight delay for this process to be completed, due to timezones and the manual process required to fully complete the connection.
Clever Data Sharing
Either before enabling or after enabling, please use the Clever application and adjust the Sharing Rules from within Clever.
Clever offers a powerful way to declare which user accounts can be logged in via the integration. For example, a dynamic sharing rule can be defined whereby a particular IB teacher, and any students enrolled in a course the teacher is currently offering, are shared.
We recommend that only those teachers and students who will need to login to ManageBac+ are shared with the ManageBac+ application. For support with setting up these sharing rules, please refer to this help article.
There are two Clever applications schools can select to share to, depending on the subscription they wish to enable:

Setting up Clever Single Sign-on
Once your ManageBac+ Account Manager has enabled Clever SSO, customers will be able to navigate to Settings > Partners > Clever > Edit and provide required the information.
Enter your school’s Clever District ID. Click Save Changes to enable SSO via Clever.
Adding user accounts to ManageBac+
In order for the authentication flow to succeed, the user accounts need to be shared with the ManageBac+ application as above, and also syncronized.
Information and status updates about the syncronization process is available through the school's Clever portal.
Clever Secure Sync Import Process
Once the connection is established, entities can be loaded into MB+:
Navigate to the module: In the left-hand navigation menu, expand Data Exchange and click on Clever Secure Sync.
Open the Import tab: In the main window, click on the Import tab located at the top.
Select the method: Under the "Select Method" section, choose your preferred sync type by selecting the radio button for either Delta or Bulk.
Initiate the sync: Click the Import button at the bottom right of the screen.
Verify success: Look for the green confirmation banner at the top of the screen that reads, "Success. Clever Sync scheduled successfully." to ensure your action went through.
Viewing Import Details
Navigate to Exchange History: Click on the Exchange History tab located on the far right of the top menu bar within the Clever Secure Sync page.
View Specific Sync Details: Find the specific import you want to review in the "Data Exchange History" list, and click the Eye icon (View) on the right-hand side of that row to open its detailed report.
Logging In via Clever SSO
Once the integration has been enabled, and student records have been shared with the application, end users will be able to login to ManageBac+ with their Clever credentials.
Step 1: Select Sign-in with Clever on the ManageBac+ login screen.
Step 2: Complete the authentication via Clever by either:
- Scanning your Clever Badge using your webcam.
- Searching for your school and then following the available login methods.
- Choosing to login as a Parent or District Admin using your Clever credentials
